Sound Forge 10 Pro Serial Number: How to Activate and Register Your Software

Do you have the receipt in your registered email? Do you have it installed on another computer? If you do then look at the "About" in the help tab on the top (assuming you can open it.) If it's installed but lost somewhere in your machine due to upgrades or such, try using Belarc Advisor (dl it) and it'll show what software you have and the serial numbers too.

"It seems like the problem is related to having a trial serial number previously installed. I couldn't activate the software with my full version serial number and saw a trial serial was still there in this key in the Windows 10 registry:

My registered trial demo serial number was there too, but I'm guessing when the software detects a trial key and the trial has expired then it doesn't bother with the new registered license. The software restarts and prompts you for a serial number again & again. This is a software bug.

Good afternoon David. This is Dan Pettegrew. I had to uninstall and reinstall my Audio Studio 10 over the weekend and encountered the same problem. Thank you for the workaround but it didn't work for me. Every time I change the current key data field with my purchase serial number and restart the computer, it goes back to the trial version serial number. Could I be doing something wrong? I've attempted the steps multiple times in your post but nothing yet. Thanks, Dan

Good afternoon Rick. Thank you. When I was replacing the trial serial number with the purchase serial number in the registry editor current key data field, I was including hyphens. I know in the software activation section on the tech support site says to not use hyphens when entering the serial number. Could that be the reason why I'm not able to reinstall? Thanks, Dan

I bought the Vegas Movie Studio 17 Platinum and I was able to register the other elements (Movie Studio Platinum & Music Maker) using my serial number. However, when I go to activate and register the Sound Forge Audio Studio 14 using the exact same serial number and method, I get error code 14 which says 'The serial number you entered is invalid or may apply to another product'. I'm using a PC computer. Any help on this issue would be much appreciated.

From what you write I assume you are trying to use the same serial number to activate SFAS as you used to activate Movie Studio. If so, that is not going to work, each app has its own, independent activation key/serial number.

I have this same exact issue. I can confirm I am not using the same serial number I used to register with Vegas. I also used the "Installation Program" link directly associated with the SOUND FORGE Audio Studio (VEGAS Pro 365) serial. Are there any other troubleshooting steps associated with this error? This is on a brand new computer, with essentially only drivers and Vegas/Sound Forge installed.

@Matthew-SDid you purchase Vegas Pro 365? As I understand, all the Vegas Pro 18 deals except VP-18 Edit, now include Sound Forge Pro 14. If you have a Sound Forge serial number, it may be for Sound Forge Pro 365. I suggest contacting Magix Customer Service for a definitive answer.

I have a similar problem with Sound Forge. I recently purchased Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 17, which includes Sound Forge Audio Studio 14. When I installed and registered Movie Studio, serial numbers were provided for several of the products (Movie Studio, DVD Architect, Video Sound Cleaning Lab, ReSpeedr), but none was provided for Sound Forge, even though the installer files were provided. I tried launching Sound Forge and then entering the Movie Studio serial number, but that failed. Per the product description, Sound Forge should be part of Movie Studio Platinum.

Have you already registered your product and have your MAGIX LOGIN on hand? Then you can download your registered programs and their corresponding manuals at any time in the MAGIX Service Center under "My Products". There you'll find an overview of all your registered MAGIX programs and their serial numbers.

Have a valid serial number for a MAGIX product and need the installation package and manual? Then go to the MAGIX Download Center and enter your serial number to download all the corresponding files. Please note that you need to select the right language package some programs. You must activate and register downloaded programs using your serial number after installing them on your computer.

In order to activate your software, you will need the serial number and a valid email address. Please note that as of 2014, you need to be connected to the Internet in order to activate the most current version of MAGIX software.

Most MAGIX products are now outfitted with a P3 serial number and need to be registered and activated when they are launched for the first time following installation. Software with a P3 serial number cannot be started until this is done. Based on the registration and activation, the software is assigned to the device on which it was installed.

If you make a shortcut on the Desktop to start Sound forge, choose to run the program maximized.Because we had problems with automatic maximization logic in previous versions, that logic is still disabled. Once you get Sound forge maximized, it should stay that way. but, if you have problems, make sure that is the case manually.Tap the alt key, and check both the document and system menus, to make sure the windows are maximized. Initial SetupInstalling Sound Forge can be a little tricky, as the Magix installers are implemented using a framework that is less screen reader friendly. In particular, the JAWS cursor can often not see any sensible text. But, do remember, that the JAWS touch cursor is your friend, and will let you look at more objects than you would see simply using the tab key.To activate the touch cursor, press shift+the PCCursor key. Then you can use left and right arrow to explore the objects. To activate an item, press the space bar. A stereo file, for example, would have two channels, so channels 1 and 2 are the left and right respectively.Each line contains the channel number, and the sound card output that will go to.
