Category:Windows-only softwarePistons in the News Pistons.com is proud to announce that it has added video features to the site. This should give Pistons fans the ability to watch many of the games on their own schedule. There will also be a mobile version of the video clip in the future. The addition of video has been a long time coming and was the result of a long process that began with the Pistons and CBS Interactive, LLC. According to Ben Bolch, the Pistons’ Vice President of Digital Media, “Pistons.com is an evolving platform, and as the site has matured, we’ve begun to develop the video capability as part of our digital strategy.” The first two games were shot in advance of the season, and much of the video content is from games played in 2010. A majority of the video content was produced in partnership with RBC Sports. Pistons.com VP Ben Bolch commented, “The network of camera-equipped cars that we commissioned as part of our partnership with RBC will also be used to shoot a variety of video content. We’re excited to share our first video clips and hope that fans will be interested in exploring all of the video content on the site.” In addition to the video and audio, Pistons.com has added a Live Stats section, an updated TV schedule, a mobile version of the site, and the ability to follow Detroit Pistons players and staff in Twitter and Facebook. Pistons.com is also the sponsor of the long running Inside the NBA video game. The recently closed sale of the Detroit Pistons by a group of NBA owners marks the third time in the past 20 years that the team was sold. Detroit's ownership group is led by Tom Gores, one of Detroit's largest business leaders. Gores, majority owner of Platinum Equity, and his partner, Dan Gilbert, who is CEO of Quicken Loans and owner of the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers, bought a 69 percent ownership stake in the Pistons in June for $525 million. While Gores and Gilbert will share control of the team, they plan to have separate staffs and revenue streams. As part of the sale, the Pistons will move from Auburn Hills to downtown Detroit, where the new arena will be built. With the new ownership group comes a desire to work with the marketing and advertising community to ac619d1d87
